| Here the Research Vessel "Helland Hansen" out between the Shetland and the Faroe Islands - one of the mot stormy oceans of the world. We were testing automatic logging instruments. |

| When it came to launching the instruments - they were hung on a large bouy. Not many life vests or hard hats - in those days. |

| The instrument package is launched. Electronic registration of temperature, salinity and depth. We came back to the site 2 weeks later - but the bouy was ot there. The project was financed by NATO - and we believe that the Russians had taken them. |
